About us
Gate Advertising Ltd was formed in November 2010 to provide cost effective website and online marketing services for businesses, organisations and individuals. We're based in South Yorkshire but happy to work wider afield.
The team at Gate are university graduates with years of experience in all aspects of website design, development and management, as well as the application of online marketing methods and tools.
About how we work
First, you will be assigned an account manager who will look after your account, liaise with you throughout the project and deal with all enquires that you may have. Each project will then involve one or more of the following phases:
Requirements specification
Our priority is first and foremost to fully understand what it is that you need from your website.
We accomplish this by engaging in a close dialogue with you from the outset in order to list your business requirements and understand the expectations that have to be met.
Our key input here is to ask the right questions, LISTEN to the answers, and document what we hear. We then agree with you that we have understood correctly and thereby establish the firmest foundations that we can before the work commences.
We know from experience that requirements and expectations will change through time, and we are agile enough to cope with such change, but that is only possible if we have an agreed starting point.
Design, development and testing
Once we are agreed on the scope of the work, the requirements and the expectations, we put together a project plan that highlights who will be responsible for which tasks and deliverables, and when each will be completed. This plan is kept as simple as possible, but where a project is large and complex, it will be broken down into phases and some formaility may be necessary in order to exercise control of budget, quality, timescale, risks and changes.
When the plan is agreed with you, the technical work commences and this is reviewed with you on a regular basis until complete. We will agree a "go live" date for the website, which signifies your acceptance of the work.
On going maintenance and management
If a website is already in use or a new website has gone live, it may need ongoing maintenance / management. This could be undertaken by you or by Gate, or you may decide for example that you undertake content management but retain Gate to undertake any structural alterations such as the addition of new pages or other features when required.
About the next step
No job is too small at Gate whether you just require a simple website or minor updates to an existing site.
On the other hand, few jobs will be too large for us, and where added complexity and / or rigour are required, more formal project management, business analysis, system modelling and quality assurance methods and tools can be employed.
